Trivia (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an AI-powered voice trivia app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and your rights over it. By using the app you agree to these practices.

Information We Collect

Account information — when you sign in with Google or email we receive:

Full name and email address
Profile picture URL (Google sign-in only)

Game session data — each trivia session we record:

Category played, score, correct answers, peak streak
Session status (completed, interrupted, failed) and timestamps
Coin type used (free, basic, or premium)

Coin balance — we store your basic and premium coin counts to manage access to session types.

        Stored only on your device — the following data never leaves your phone and is never sent to our servers: missed questions, AI-generated explanations, per-category high scores, custom trivia categories you create, and your chosen AI host personality.

Voice & Audio

Premium sessions stream your microphone audio in real time directly to Google’s Gemini Live API. We do not record, store, or retain any audio. The stream exists only for the duration of the session and is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.

Basic sessions use text-only interaction — the microphone is not accessed.

Third-Party Services

Supabase Backend database and authentication. Stores your account info, session stats, and coin balance. Privacy policy →

Google Gemini AI that powers trivia questions and explanations. Receives live audio (premium) and question text. Privacy policy →

Google OAuth Optional sign-in provider. Shares name, email, and profile picture with us upon login.

Wikipedia API Fetches article summaries and images for missed-question explanations. No personal data is sent.

How We Use Your Data

Authenticating your account and maintaining your session
Tracking coin balances and enforcing free session limits
Displaying your personal game statistics
Generating AI trivia questions and explanations

We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or analytics platforms.

Data Retention

Account and session data is retained for as long as your account is active. On-device data (missed questions, high scores, custom categories) is stored locally until you clear it or uninstall the app.

When you delete your account (Profile → Delete Account), we permanently remove your profile, session history, and auth credentials from our servers within moments. On-device data is also wiped at deletion time.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Delete your account and all associated data at any time via Profile → Delete Account
Withdraw consent for microphone access via your device settings

Children’s Privacy

Trivia is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
